Shipment Details

Freight Method:
Your automotive lift is shipped via a common carrier on a 48-foot semi-truck (occasionally up to 53 feet or on a flatbed). Freight shipping typically takes between 3 to 14 days, depending on your location.

Free Shipping:
Most products include free shipping to commercial addresses equipped with a forklift. Free shipping does not apply to Government secure locations, State and National Parks, construction sites, islands, Alaska, or Hawaii. In cases where “warehouse pickup only” is indicated, please be aware that you will need to pick up the order from the manufacturer's warehouse nearest to you.

Delivery and Unloading Responsibilities

Unloading:
You are responsible for unloading the equipment from the truck. The driver will not unload the lift for you. You must have appropriate machinery (e.g., forklift, Bobcat, tractor, tow truck, or backhoe) capable of handling the weight of your lift. If you cannot unload from the truck, you may request that the shipment be delivered to the carrier’s nearest freight terminal for pickup.

Delivery Appointments:
You are responsible for contacting the freight company to schedule a delivery appointment. Carriers cannot guarantee specific delivery dates or times, though many offer the option to call 24 hours before delivery (additional fees may apply).

Residential Deliveries:
Residential deliveries may not be possible if local ordinances or physical obstacles prevent large trucks from maneuvering properly. If you encounter such issues, please coordinate an alternate delivery arrangement at the time of your order to avoid additional fees.

Equipment Handling:
Carriers require that the entire equipment be unloaded at once; partial unloading is not permitted.

Special Delivery Options

Lift-Gate Delivery:
Lift-gate delivery is available for certain models. Please contact our support team at support@heavydutygarage.com for more information. Note that lift-gate delivery is not available for all types of lifts, such as two-post and four-post models.

Alternate Pickup or Delivery Locations:
If you are unable to accept delivery at your desired location, you may arrange for shipment to a facility equipped to unload the lift or opt to pick up your order at one of our distributor or freight warehouses. If you choose warehouse pickup, ensure you have a suitably sized trailer for hauling the equipment.

Damaged Shipments

Our shipments are sent “FOB Origin,” meaning ownership transfers to you once the carrier picks up your lift. Please inspect your shipment upon arrival:

Minor Damage:
If you notice minor cosmetic damage or a missing part, note the damage on the freight bill before signing. Then, file a freight damage claim with the carrier. After the claim is initiated, we will provide any missing parts or touch-up paint necessary for repairs. The carrier may reimburse you for any additional repair costs.

Major Damage:
If the lift sustains significant damage, you have the option to refuse the shipment. In such cases, Heavy Duty Garage will assist by filing a damage claim with the freight company on your behalf. Please make a copy of the freight bill and email it, along with a brief explanation of the damage, to support@heavydutygarage.com.

For your protection, always inspect shipments before signing the freight bill and note any damage immediately.

Returned Merchandise

Authorization Required:
All returned merchandise requires prior authorization. Contact our support team at support@heavydutygarage.com for shipping instructions and to obtain a return authorization number. Credits will not be issued without this authorization.

Restocking Fee:
A 20% restocking fee applies to all returned items. Any additional charges incurred due to damaged merchandise will be deducted from the credits owed.
